Garage doors don't wait for business hours
A garage door that won't close leaves the house open all night. A door stuck halfway means a car that can't leave for work. These calls come in at seven in the morning, at lunch and late at night, and nobody wants to wait until Monday for a callback.
Your technicians are out on call-outs, lifting springs in other people's garages. Nobody is free to answer, so the call goes to voicemail, and the next company picks up the job.
An AI receptionist answers every call, sorts the urgent ones from the routine ones and books the rest into your calendar.
Doors stuck open or shut
Stuck doors are where the safety questions matter most. The AI asks the questions you approve. The list is yours to set, but it usually includes:
- Is anyone hurt, or trapped under the door?
- Is the house open to the street, or is the property unsafe to leave?
- Is the door stuck halfway, and does it move at all?
If anyone is in danger, the caller is told to hang up and call 000. Urgent calls go to your on-call technician. Routine calls are booked for the next visit.
Springs, motors and remotes
Most repair calls describe a symptom rather than a fault: a bang, a grinding motor, a remote that stops working, a door that sits crooked. The AI logs the symptoms, the make and model if the customer knows them, and the access details. It books the visit so your technician can see the door.
Service bookings and new door quotes
Routine service visits and new door quotes fill your calendar. The AI offers the times your technicians have open, records the number of doors and any access details, and books the visit.
For a new door or an installation, it takes the size of the opening, the style of door the customer has in mind, the number of cars and the suburb, then logs a quote request. Prices come only from figures you supply. Otherwise your estimator quotes after the visit. For pricing on the receptionist side, see plans and pricing.
Your calendar and your team
Where your booking system allows it, the AI books straight into your calendar. Where it doesn't, the request goes to your office with the time the customer asked for, and your team confirms it. Which one applies is confirmed on the discovery call, before you commit to anything.
What your team sees after each call
After each call, your team gets a summary by SMS or email: the customer, the address, the problem, what was booked and whether the call was flagged. Urgent calls are marked first, so the on-call technician sees a stuck door before a routine repair.
When the AI can't help
Some customers want a person straight away. The AI takes a clear message and tells them when to expect a call back. It doesn't make up answers you haven't approved, and it doesn't argue with a customer about who caused a fault.
Customer privacy
Every caller hears early that they are reaching the business's AI assistant. Door models, property addresses and access arrangements go into your job file. See the privacy page for what the site commits to, and agree recording and retention with us before go-live.
