Lockouts at 2am, dispatched properly
A lockout is rarely planned. The caller is usually cold, stressed and in a hurry, and they want to know one thing: when someone will be there. A phone that rings out at that hour loses the job, and often a customer too.
Your AI receptionist answers at any hour. It confirms the location, asks whether anyone is inside who needs help, and checks that the caller is safe. Then it dispatches your on-call locksmith under the rules you set, and it gives the caller a clear next step.
The caller is also told what happens on arrival. The locksmith checks ID and proof of address before any work starts, as they always do. The AI says this on every lockout call so there are no surprises when the van pulls up.
Lost keys and car keys
Lost keys are a different kind of call. The caller is annoyed, not locked out, and they want a sensible option and a time that suits them. The AI takes the details it needs to plan the visit, such as whether the key is for a house, a car or a gate, and what the caller already has.
- The type of lock or key, and the make and model if it is a vehicle.
- Whether the caller has any spare keys or a proof of ownership they can show on arrival.
- The address or location where the work will be done.
- The timing: same day, a set time or a call back from your team.
The AI does not tell the caller how to get into a locked car or property. It books the visit or passes the request to your team, who advise on the options you offer.
Lock changes after a break-in
After a break-in, the caller is shaken. They want the locks changed quickly, and they want someone to listen. The AI keeps the call calm and short. It checks first whether anyone is still in danger, and if they are, the caller is told to call 000 before anything else.
Once the scene is safe, the AI takes the address, the entry point and the number of locks that need attention. Urgent security work is routed to the on-call locksmith under your rules. The AI does not advise on police reports, insurance claims or what to touch at the scene. If the caller asks about those, it passes the question to your team and says so.
Commercial, strata and property manager jobs
Commercial and strata jobs have more people in the chain. A property manager, a committee member, a tenant and an owner may all be involved in the same entry lock. The AI takes the job in a way that keeps those roles clear, so your team does not have to call three people to work out who approves the work.
- The building or site address, and the number of doors or access points.
- The name and role of the person making the request, and who approves the work.
- The access requirements, such as building hours, key registers or master key systems.
- The deadline, and whether the work is planned or urgent.
Your team confirms who is authorised to approve the job before any work is booked. The AI does not agree to work on behalf of an owner or committee.
Quotes and routine bookings
Locksmith quotes depend on the lock, the door, the number of keys and whether the job is urgent. The AI quotes only the prices you have supplied, such as a call-out fee or a rate for a standard rekey. For anything else, it collects the job details and passes the request to your team.
Routine work, like a sticky deadlock or a new handle, is booked into your calendar in the same way as other jobs. The AI offers the times you have open, notes the access details and sends the confirmation. Plan options are on the pricing section, and the AI receptionist page explains how the call handling works.
When the AI cannot help
Some questions need a locksmith or your office. Whether a lock can be picked, how a specific security system should be set up, or whether a door is safe to use after damage. The AI does not answer those. It takes a clear message, flags it for the right person and tells the caller when to expect a reply.
What your dispatcher sees in the morning
Every call ends with a summary sent to you by SMS or email: who called, where, what they needed, what was booked, what was dispatched and what still needs a call back. Overnight calls are waiting in one list when the day starts, with dispatched jobs and safety flags at the top, so the morning starts with the right priorities.
Customer details and privacy
Customers hear at the top of the call that the AI assistant is answering. You approve the scripts, including what the AI says about access, identity checks and urgent security work, and property addresses for call-outs go to your dispatcher. Each call is transcribed for the summary, and whether audio is also recorded is agreed with you before go-live. Read the privacy page for what the site commits to, and ask about your own data setup on the discovery call.
